This is my first and only tattoo (right now anyways) right after it was finished. It is a drawing from I believe 1876 by a french artist depicting how fashion has basically forced women to start tight lacing, and the consequences. It shows two harpies who depict fashion and vanity, which are pulling the strings of the corset to make you look thinner, but the text reads “With fashion, with death” Basically saying if you follow fashion to that degree, you’ll succumb to it yourself. I am a fashion designer, and I got this tattoo to remind myself to not follow the trends, and to come up with new innovative garments. Because for me, following what other people do is my tight lacing, it will kill me as a creative designer. As soon as I saw this picture, I knew this would be my first tattoo, I understood it, and knew whole heatedly that this is what I wanted, and that I would not get sick of it in a few years.
